If any of the above questions are true then I have a solution for you.Sometimes we may install fewsoftwares/extensions and our default search engine gets changed.I generally prefer Google as default search engine in my browser. If I am not wrong most of the people will prefer Google as their default search engine.

Change Default Search Engine in Google Chrome:

  • Go to wrench icon at the top right corner of the browser and click it.
  • Then choose Settings Tab in the drop down menu.
  • Go to Search and click on Manage Search Engines. When you will click on ‘Manage Search Engines’ a new window will pop up,there you can see many search engines lined up.
  • The very first column will show the default search engine for your browser.
  • Now choose the search engine that you want to assign for your browser. Then hit OK and close the window when you are done.

Change Default Search Engine in Mozilla Firefox:

Firefox Search Box doesn't have any default search engine. All you have to do is to click the drop down arrow next to search box and choose your search engine.Once you select a search engine,Firefox will remember it and from the next time it will open the search engine which you have chosen. To do so just follow the below steps.
  • In Firefox click on the Top Right Inverted Triangle and go to Manage Search Engines.
  • Now just choose the one which you want to apply for your browser and hit ok.
  • From the next time you open it will show the default search engine which you have chosen.

Change Default Search Engine in Internet Explorer:

  • Like the wrench in Google Chrome, you have a Sprocket icon in Internet Explorer at the top right corner of the browser.
  • Clicking on this icon will open a new window of settings for your browser.
  • You can see a tab ‘Manage Add-ons’ there. Select it and then go to ‘Search Providers’ in the list.
  • You can then see all the available search engines in a column on your right window.
  • Mostly the default browser in Internet Explorer will be Bing.
  • If you don't find other search engines to choose just go to Find More Search Providers button from the bottom of the settings windows. Then a new windows will pop up showing various number of search engines.
  • From there you choose the search engine you want then add it to Internet Explorer and then choose it as your default search engine.
